Sandee Richey-Cox
HBI (CPD)
Sandee considers it an honor to comfort and support women and their families as they prepare for and experience the miracle of birth. After the birth of her first child in 1985, her eyes were opened to the beauty of a peaceful birth. She then began assisting and supporting parents-to-be as a doula. She received her first Birth Doula certification through DONA International (Doulas of North America) and now Harbor Birth Institute, training doulas. Sandee has assisted hundreds of women in their birth. She has been an assistant to a local home-birth midwife, has attended The Midwifery Assistant Workshop at The Farm, and has completed the Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
Sandee has 6 children with John, her husband of 37 years. Sandee is also known as Pearl to three grandchildren and one on the way. She loves to read, travel, and cherishes time spent with her family.
With Sandee’s years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to impart to new doulas as they begin their journey into birth work: “As doulas, we have the opportunity to share wisdom handed down through the ages, helping families make their experience of birth informed, prepared and empowered.”
